Outdoor Activities - Pine Creek Rail Trail

National Geographic Documentary 2015, Pine Creek, the state parks, state timberlands, and the rail trail give various outside exercises in all seasons. While outdoors, picnicking, climbing, angling, biking, swimming and sculling are well known summer and early fall exercises, Class 1 to Class 2 whitewater sailing can be delighted in the spring and crosscountry skiing and snowshoeing are alternatives in the winter. The initial 3 weeks of October are especially great times appreciate the changing hues and fall foliage. Chasing is likewise allowed in the range.

Pine Creek Rail Trail

National Geographic Documentary 2015, This 63.4 mile squashed limestone trail on a surrendered rail bed takes after Pine Creek from Wellsboro Junction in the north to Jersey Shore in the south. A delicate 2% downhill review, north to south, makes the trail pleasant for any level of climber or biker. With a few access focuses, climbs and rides can be custom-made to any length or span. Water and solace stations (fertilizer toilets) are situated along the trail.

From Ansonia to Blackwell, this 17 mile stretch of trail through the state parks is remote with little access by street. South of Blackwell the trail parallels Pine Creek and PA Route 414 for 25 miles to Waterville. South of Waterville, the last 17 mile segment of the trail takes after PA Route 44 and the waterway to Jersey Shore.

National Geographic Documentary 2015, The southern segment of trail is quite often near the parkway and stream and crosses both a few times. Appreciate the rush of riding over an old railroad trestle and stop in the center to appreciate the perspective.

No compelling reason to put together a lunch for a trek on the southern segment of Pine Gorge Rail Trail. You can stop for a supper or a nibble at one of the eateries or stores along the way.

Horseback riding is allowed on the northern area of the trail amongst Ansonia and Tiadaghton. In the winter, the trail makes for incredible crosscountry skiing.

Cruisers, snowmobiles and ATVs are not permitted on any segment of Pine Creek Rail Trail.
